9 Story Entertainment Announces New Development Slate
Five exciting new shows to be announced at MIPCOM Jr.
Toronto, October 03, 2006

9 Story Entertainment, the Emmy and Gemini award-winning animation company, will be bringing its development slate of five new animation properties to MIPCOM.

The development slate includes Almost Naked Animals, Bash Boys, The Mystery of Oak Island, SuperEwe, and Alpha Bands.

"We have worked extremely hard over the past year to identify and acquire these distinct, character-driven properties." explained Vince Commisso, partner and executive producer, 9 Story Entertainment. "We're anticipating a positive response from the market based on the freshness of these program ideas."

About the shows

Almost Naked Animals is a comedic series targeted to 6-11 year olds, based on the web site of the same name, featuring some very scantily clad wildlife. With their quirky designs and unusual personalities, the Almost Naked Animals will be sure to make you laugh.

Bash Boys is an action-adventure/comedy series targeted at kids aged 8-12. It's the future and democracy is dead, thanks to evil genius Zackary Lomax. Doc Bash is the only one who can save the world, but in order to do so he must send his son, Rick, back in time to defeat Lomax. And who's there to help Rick and keep tabs on Lomax: Doc himself at age 13.

The Mystery of Oak Island, based on Joan Clark's family novel The Hand of Robin Squires, is a feature length action-adventure movie targeted to youth and family audiences. Set late in the 18th Century, the story follows the life of Robin Squires, a 14-year old boy who travels to the New World with his unscrupulous Uncle Edward. After he befriends a local native, Robin discovers his Uncle's greedy nature when he and his friend are kidnapped by Edward who uses them to help hide his great treasure.

SuperEwe is a comedy series targeted to 8-12 year-olds about an ordinary sheep named Mabel. After drinking an experimental potion, Mabel acquires super-sight, super-hearing, and super-strength. She's forever transformed; regular wool-shedding sheep Mabel by day, and SuperEwe by night, protecting Better Luck Farm from the likes of Feral Fox and his gang of Psycho Bunnies.

Alpha Bands is a 2D/3D science fiction series for youth aged 9-14 that reveals our Earth to be a Beta site - a fully functioning test tube created by the governing body of Alpha Earth, called MAST. When a group of activists on Alpha protest the experiment, MAST banishes them and their families to a secluded island. Fifteen-year-old Yuyang, the son of activist leader and former MAST scientist Xylon, escapes to Beta Earth to protect us from Alpha's destructive environmental experiments.
