9 Story Begins The New Year With Two Key New Appointments
Toronto, January 2008

Canadian-based, multi-award winning production and animation studio, 9 Story Entertainment, heads into 2008 with the addition of two new senior executives. Jill Fraser has been named Vice-President, Business Affairs and Krista Barron, Manager Production Finance. The two will report directly to Steve Jarosz, Vice President and COO, 9 Story Entertainment.

"As 9 Story continues to expand into new business ventures we are pleased to welcome Jill Fraser and Krista Baron to our senior management team," said Jarosz, " We have enjoyed working with Jill over the past five years as our external legal council, so it was a natural transition for us to bring her in house. Jill's extensive legal expertise and industry knowledge and Krista's combined agency and private sector experience will be a valuable contribution to the company. Both Jill and Krista have had distinguishing careers in the entertainment industry and we are thrilled to have them join 9 Story."

As Vice-President, Business Affairs, Fraser will be responsible for legal and business affairs matters for all areas of 9 Story's operations. Barron will be responsible for administration and certifications relating to tax credits, film agency and other domestic funding on all 9 Story productions. Both positions report to Steven Jarosz, COO.

Fraser is a seasoned entertainment lawyer who brings 20 years of legal and business affairs experience in all aspects of live action and animated film and television development, production, co-production, distribution, and merchandise licensing. She joins 9 Story from Duncan Morin LLP, a Toronto-based boutique entertainment law firm. Prior positions include a period as legal counsel for the Motion Picture Group of Alliance Atlantis Communications, and more than 11 years as Vice President, Business Affairs for Nelvana Limited. Fraser holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto and an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa.

Barron brings a decade of entertainment tax credit and investment experience to her new position. She joins 9 Story from Ontario Media Development Corporation, where she served as Acting Business Officer for the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit. Prior to the OMDC, she spent a year at Telefilm as an Investment Analyst and seven years as Business Analyst at British Columbia Film in the Tax Credit Program, where she played a key role in the development of the program and subsequent changes to Tax Credit legislation including the Digital Animation or Visual Effects (DAVE) Tax Credit. Barron also held administrative positions at Malofilm International, BBC Worldwide Americas, Telefilm Canada and Alliance Communications. She began her career as Assistant to the Sr. Partner at law firm Aiken, Capp.
