9 STORY ENTERTAINMENT LANDS TWO GEMINI AWARDS
Skyland Bestowed The 2007 Gemini Award For Best Animated Program or Series and A Second Award For Best Original Score for Animated Program or Series

Leading Canadian-based production and distribution studio, 9 Story Entertainment has garnered two prestigious 2007 Gemini Awards for action-adventure series Skyland. Recognizing the year's best in Canadian English-language television, Skyland was bestowed The Gemini Award for Best Animated Program or Series and a second Gemini Award for Best Original Score Animated Program or Series - Paul Inston. The Academy of Canadian Cinema announced the winners for the Lifestyle, Children's and Youth Awards on Tuesday, October 16th.
Producers Vince Commisso, Steven Jarosz and Marilyn McAuley were on hand to accept the award. A 9 Story Entertainment and Method Films production, the sci-fi animated series is set in the year 2451, when the earth's shattered crust has turned into millions of planetary fragments. The story revolves around characters Mahad and his sister Lena, two extraordinary children who struggle to free their mother from the Sphere, the tyrannical organization that rules over the new world order.
This year, the series was nominated for two 2007 ACT Awards and in 2006 and was the Pulcinella Award Winner (Cartoons On the Bay) for TV Series of Action & Adventure as well as a Prix Jeunesse finalist in the 12-15 age category.
9 Story was also recognized with 2007 Gemini Award nominations in several top categories for Peep and The Big Wide World and Jacob Two-Two.
