9 Story Launches New Distribution Division Led By Former Universal Studios Executive
Toronto, september 21, 2006
9 Story Entertainment, the Emmy and Gemini
award-winning animation studio, will launch a new distribution division headed by Natalie
Osborne, former Vice President of Acquisitions, Universal Pictures Visual Programming.
As EVP, Business Development, Osborne will lead the distribution effort behind three projects at
this year's MIPCOM Jr. in Cannes, France, including Futz!, Best Ed and If The World Were A
Village.
"MIPCOM Jr. is the perfect venue to introduce these exciting new properties," explained Vince
Commisso, partner and executive producer, 9 Story Entertainment. "Creating a distribution
division will ensure 9 Story's continued growth and long-term success."
Futz! is a 26 x 3 minute multiplatform action-comedy series, targeted to 9 - 14 year olds, with all
episodes completed by September 2007. Our iconic anti-hero Futz is ready for anything...
prepared for nothing!
Best Ed is a 52 x 11 minute comedy series, targeted to 8 - 12 year olds, for broadcast commencing
in January 2008. The series is about the unlikely friendship between a dog named Ed and a
squirrel named Buddy. Get ready for the new odd couple for kids.
If The World Were A Village is a completed half-hour special that delivers an important message
with a spectacular visual metaphor. Based on the bestselling book of the same name, the special
creates a Village of 100 people that helps young audiences learn about our world.
