9 Story Entertainment Launches 'Best Ed' at MIPCOM 2006
Deal firmly entrenches Emmy-award-winning studio in international market
Toronto, september 26, 2006
9 Story Entertainment, the Emmy and Gemini
award-winning animation company, has reached a pre-sale agreement to air its new
animated series, Best Ed, on the Cartoon Network in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
This move is the latest in a series of activities that continues to build 9 Story's presence in the
international TV market.
Best Ed is a flash animation series that revolves around the unlikely friendship of the alwayshelpful
Ed, a dog, and his squirrel pal Buddy. The show is produced and distributed by 9
Story Entertainment and is being developed by TELETOON along with Cartoon Network UK.
"The sale of Best Ed internationally is another win for 9 Story and a testament to our steady
and continued growth," explained Vince Commisso, partner and executive producer, 9 Story
Entertainment. "This deal signifies our latest move toward increased distribution and
production agreements in markets outside North America, and the continued success of our
relatively young company."
The deal will see fifty-two 11-minute episodes of the series, aimed at youth aged 8-12, air on
Cartoon Network UK, Europe Middle East and Africa starting in January 2008. A new demo
for the series will be submitted at this year's MIPCOM Jr.
