Toronto - October 27, 2009
Family entertainment production and animation studio 9 Story Entertainment has secured several new broadcast deals with top networks around the world for new animated series Almost Naked Animals and Wibbly Pig, and reality series Survive This.
9 Story's proprietary property, Almost Naked Animals (52 x 11 min.), featuring seven free-spirited animals in their underwear that run a beach-front hotel like kids at a summer camp, has been sold to Canal+ (France), ABC (Australia) and Noga (Israel). Based on the popular website of the same name created by Noah Z. Jones, the animated series has been commissioned by Canada's YTV and is scheduled for a fall 2010 premiere.
Created by 9 Story and wilderness survival expert and filmmaker, Les Stroud, tween reality series Survive This (14 x 22 min.) has been sold to ABC (Australia) and VRAK (French Canada). The first season of Survive This, broadcast on Cartoon Network (US), has been sold to (previously announced) Cartoon Network (Latin America), YLE (Finland), SVT (Sweden), Noga (Israel) and Teleview (Middle East).
A new animated series based on acclaimed author and artist Mick Inkpen's books, Wibbly Pig (52 x 10 min.) heads to CBeebies (BBC Worldwide) Latin America. Targeting 2-5 year-olds, the series has commissions from the BBC for CBeebies, in addition to both TVO and Knowledge Network in Canada. Wibbly Pig features humorous stories about the lovable Wibbly, a funny, inquisitive and engaging character who turns the simplest daily tasks and activities into a comedy routine.
