9 STORY HEADS TO CANNES WITH NEW DEALS
FOR ALL-NEW SECOND SEASON OF SURVIVE THIS
Toronto - September 6, 2010
Canada-based family entertainment production and animation studio 9 Story Entertainment is heading to Cannes this fall for MIPCOM 2010 with several new broadcast deals for an all-new second season of Survive This, the popular tween reality series.
Created by wilderness survival expert and filmmaker, Les Stroud, Survive This season two (14 x 22 min.) has been sold to Noga (Israel), SVT (Sweden), VRAK (French Canada), Nickelodeon India and NRK (Norway) along with previously announced ABC (Australia). NRK (Norway), Nickelodeon (India) and TVB (Hong Kong) also picked up season one of the series.
In addition to these recent sales, Survive This, the first season, has been sold to Cartoon Network (US), Cartoon Network (Latin America), ABC (Australia) YLE (Finland), SVT (Sweden), Noga (Israel) and Teleview (Middle East). Both seasons premiered on YTV in Canada.
Survive This is an exciting adventure series that challenges teenagers to push their limits, overcome fears and develop lifelong survival skills. Hosted by Les Stroud, each episode aims to test endurance, wit and self determination. Eight teens, ages 14 to 17, are thrust into various survival challenges over the course of the thirteen episode season.
In the all-new second season of Survive This, it’s a whole new game as survivors are presented with each new challenge and then asked “Who Can Survive?”
Following Stroud’s initial instructions, the members of the group are left on their own to find shelter and food as they face the perils of the harsh, remote wilderness over the next several days. Confronted with increasingly difficult challenges along the way, each contestant must either find the courage to forge ahead or give in to the temptation of the always-open offer to give up and go home. Innovation and the survival skills they learned from Stroud are their most powerful weapons in a fight for survival on this incredible journey that reveals each participant’s true character, for better or worse.
Canada’s YTV debuted the second season of Survive This in April 2010.
At MIPCOM, 9 Story Entertainment will be offering a full slate of new and popular returning programs for children and tweens at Stand 02.10.
