THE INVISIBLE RULES OF THE ZOË LAMA
Zoë Monday Costello is your typical, fun, confident and compassionate ninth-grader dealing with everyday teenage problems like pimples, bad hair days, and boys. Ordinary issues? Maybe. But there's nothing ordinary about Zoë. You see, for classmates, friends, teachers and musical phenoms, Zoë happens to be the go-to-gal for advice on everything, a coveted position she has held since kindergarten, when she single-handedly managed to neutralize the school bully.
Dispensing advice to her "clients", on everything from dating to what to wear for your class photo, Zoë knows her rules for everyday life and school survival - or as she prefers to call them - her unwritten rules. Zoë refuses to write her rules down for anyone, which only seems to add to her mystique and school celebrity as... "The Zoë Lama"!
But, Zoë's biggest and most demanding client is a well-guarded secret. Even her number one and number two best friends don't know who it is. Dishing advice to Donny `D`, the world's most successful hip hop artist is hard work! Acting as his pint-sized Cyrano De Bergerac, Zoë dispenses advice on everything from which endorsement deal to sign to the best way to approach the pretty girl in his music video. However, no one can ever know of their business arrangement, as it would spell disaster for his image.
With her unwritten rules guiding Donny `D`s career and the general life of her school, Zoë works hard to stay on top of her game. Keenly aware that one day her lama status might end, she is constantly brainstorming ideas and new rules. But more often than not, Zoë's rules and advice-giving lead her and her "clients" into very sticky situations. And of course, it is up to Zoë to somehow find a way to save the day - her number one unwritten rule!
